This speckled granite water feature is designed to stand nicely in corner but could also be used in a more central position. It consisted of a carved monolith with a rippled surface standing on a granite trough base.

 

Smooth, washed pebbles are provided for use in the trough. A hole bored through the monolith from its base to a small shelf section close to the top provides a route for water flow. The feature is designed to be positioned on a pebble pool base. The pebble pool base should be buried in the ground and covered with the stone of your choice.

 

We recommend using a Finia 1000 pebble pool. These are a heavy duty pool that can withstand the weight of a granite feature of this type. The Finia base provides a sump containing a reservoir of water for the feature and is available as an option with this feature.

 

A submersible pond pump can be located in the pebble pool base to circulate water up to the shelf section. Water trickles down from the shelf across the rippled surface of the monolith, through the granite trough, overflows the trough and drains back into the pebble pool base. The pump is an optional extra, which comes with a length of flexible tube and 10m of cable for connection to a mains 240V supply.

 

It is possible to fit a waterproof spotty light at the top of the bore hole to illuminate water spurting from the top of the bore hole. The moving water creates a flickering effect similar to candlelight.

The pump is an optional extra, which comes with a length of flexible tube and 10m of cable for connection to a mains 240V supply.
